VAUGHAN, ON, Oct. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - Hats On for Awareness is pleased to welcome Dr. Bryce Wylde as its keynote speaker to celebrate the 5th Anniversary in style of the charity. As part of the milestone event, guests are invited to wear their flashiest '20s attire, including their finest and fanciest headwear, for a roaring Gatsby-themed evening in support of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
Dr. Bryce Wylde is known as a leading expert in alternative health and has appeared numerous times on the popular Dr. Oz show. With a speciality in homeopathy, Dr. Wylde treats many patients suffering from mental illness and addiction with alternative forms of medicine and is a welcome guest as this year's keynote speaker.
As this is the 5th year for the Hatsquerade, Hats On for Awareness is going all out. The event will feature great food, live entertainment, a silent auction and plenty of dancing, including the Fox Trot and maybe even the Charleston.
According to CAMH, 1 in 5 Canadians now suffers from a mental illness or addiction. Through events like the Hatsquerade, Hats On for Awareness is working hard to shatter the stigmas associated with both and ensure those who suffer get the help they need. Stigmas and taboos should not stand in the way of treatment.
"As someone who suffers from mental illness and who has lost someone close to them to suicide, I know the importance of raising awareness about this important issue," said Enza Checchia, co-founder of Hats On. "We're pleased to host this event to do our small part to ensure those who need help are able to find it."
