A North American first
MONTREAL, Oct. 3, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - eNovance (www.enovance.com), a European leader and major global player in open source cloud computing and multi-cloud management (public, private and hybrid clouds), invite the Canadian community to the first North American gathering of OpenStack in Action. The event is directed at organizations that provide hosting services, cloud services or for those who are interested in learning more about cloud computing. The event is Tuesday, October 8, between 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Westin Montreal, 270 St. Antoine Street West. Participants can register online at www.openstackinaction.ca.
"The OpenStack community in Montreal and Canada in general is not yet fully-structured, with that in mind, eNovance has taken the opportunity, based on its experience organizing similar events in Europe, to launch the first North American conference - allowing for a unique opportunity to share news and views on the merits of this model with a hundred-some expected participants," said Philippe Thériault, eNovance Chief Commercial Officer. "The marquee-name speakers will include global leaders in their fields. OpenStack is an operating system for cloud computing that allows users to eliminate the constraints of a single supplier or technology for servers, networking, storage and virtualization. It is both a compliment and an alternative to existing proprietary virtualization solutions, which are often very costly and lacking in flexibility. This conference is an occasion for cloud experts to take stock of the rapid adoption of OpenStack and of its evolution in both technical and business terms."
"The Canada Cloud Network is very pleased to support this event organized by eNovance," said Neil McEvoy, chief executive officer of www.cloudbestpractices.net. "OpenStack has been a catalyst for rapid large-scale innovation in cloud computing around the world and it is essential for Canada to follow the beat - or ideally, as in this case, to lead it. This will be a founding event for the OpenStack community in Canada and will contribute greatly to the industry as a whole." The event is also supported by the following partners, without whom it could not happen: Cisco, F5, HP, iWeb, RedHat, SUSE and UQAM.
