TORONTO, Oct. 23, 2013 /CNW/ - Now that fall has arrived and the flu vaccine is officially available in Ontario, the Honourable Deb Matthews, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, along with Domenic Pilla, President & CEO of Shoppers Drug Mart, will receive their flu shots from a Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacist on Thursday, October 24.
Between 3.4 and 8.6 million Canadians come down with the flu each year and it can result in serious consequences for many including seniors, children, and those with chronic health conditions.1 In fact, 2,000 to 8,000 people die annually as a result of complications from the flu, so it is important everyone takes the proper precautions to prevent getting sick.2
