Media advisory - Sailors Partner with the Community for a Cleaner Environment

QUÉBEC, Sept. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - On September 19th , several Québec organizations will pool their resources to clean up a section of the banks of the St. Charles River . The Naval Reserve invites the media to a press briefing, where they will be informed of the details of the event, and to invite the general population to participate in this community activity.

    
    Event:  Announcement of the activity and introduction of the main
            partners.

    When:   11 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2009.
    Where:  Wilfrid-Hamel Blvd (easterly direction),
            about 300 m past St-Sacrement Ave.

    Who:    Representatives of the City of Quebec, of the Société de la
            rivière Saint-Charles, of the Aquarium de Québec and of Canadian
            Forces Fleet School (Québec) will be on hand for interviews.
    

The sailors of Naval Reserve Headquarters and Canadian Forces Fleet School (Québec) are proud to be partners in this national conservation initiative, the TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, whose goal is to positively impact our environment through the removal of harmful waste from our beaches and shores.

This activity is just one of the many upcoming projects conducted by the members of the Naval Reserve over 2009-2010, as sailors across Canada celebrate the 100th anniversary of our nation's Navy.
