/CNW/ - AIM PowerGen Corporation ("AIM") announced today that an agreement has been signed for International Power plc, a leading independent power producer, to acquire the Company from its parent, Renewable Energy Generation Limited, subject to shareholder approval.
The acquisition includes AIM's operating wind power assets, its development portfolio in Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta and its Canadian development team.
Joining the International Power team represents for AIM and its employees a unique opportunity to expand its activities in the continuously growing Canadian wind market. AIM's portfolio will benefit from International Power's global reach and strong financial backing.
