TORONTO, Aug. 18 /CNW/ - Thousands are expected for the second annual Brazilian Day Canada Concert. Last year over 30,000 people attended; larger numbers are expected for 2010.

    
    When:        Monday September 6, 2010 2pm to 8pm

    Where:       Yonge-Dundas Square
                 Street Closure: Yonge Street between Dundas St. and
                 Shuter St. (from 10am to 11pm)

    Who:         Brazil's biggest star Ivete Sangalo, Globo TV personality
                 Serginho Groisman
                 Local performers: Aline Morales, Maracatu Baque de Bamba,
                 Cibelle Iglesias, Marcelo Neves, Batucada Carioca,
                 Capoeira Camara, José Paulo, youth band Jack October &
                 Friends, Samba Connection and singing the Canadian national
                 anthem Simone Soman.
    

The free festival kicks off Sunday, September 5, 1pm to 6pm, with a showcase of Brazilian culture complete with feijoada, Brazil's national dish, music, and free samba lessons.
