BILLY DIAMOND, PASSED AWAY THIS MORNING, ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2010, IN
HIS HOME COMMUNITY OF WASKAGANISH, QUEBEC
OTTAWA, Sept. 30 /CNW/ - On behalf of the Chief and Council of the Crees of the Waskaganish First Nation, it is with deep sadness and regret to inform you that Chief Dr. Billy Diamond has passed away suddenly at 11:50 a.m. this morning, on Thursday, September 30, 2010.
Chief Dr. Diamond was at his home when he was in distress and a call was placed to the local emergency team at 11:29 a.m. Shortly after being transported to the clinic in Waskaganish, Dr. Marie Carmen Berlie pronounced the death of Chief Dr. Billy Diamond at 11:50 a.m.
His wife, Elizabeth was present with him throughout the entire time. His wife and children, Lorraine, Christopher, Ian, Sandford, Phillip and Kevin Gunner are grateful for your care and concern.
Funeral arrangements and information shall be released as soon as possible.
