Nova Scotian CEO's & Community Leaders agree to swap Chairs for the Day
HALIFAX, Sept. 10, 2012 /CNW/ - On Monday, September 17th, fifteen of Nova Scotia's most influential leaders from the business, education, healthcare and public sectors will spend their normal working day in a wheelchair. Chair-Leaders, the signature fundraising event of the Canadian Paraplegic Association (NS), will draw special attention to the barriers and challenges wheelchair users experience on a daily basis.
The showcase event of the day will be the noon-time obstacle course at Parade Square in Halifax. The public and members of the local media will be on-hand to cover the excitement as Chair-Leaders push, pull and wheel past the finish-line. The Chair-Leader who raises the mostfunds, combined with the most votes and points from the obstacle course will be awarded the first annual Paul Tingley Chair-Leader of the Year Award.
On Tuesday, September 11th, you are invited to attend the official launch of the event at the Halifax World Trade & Convention Centre. Join us for a special press conference in room 200C1 at 10:30 AM to formally introduce the selected Chair-Leaders for 2012.
The Canadian Paraplegic Association (NS) serves all persons in Nova Scotia affected by spinal-cord injuries or who are wheelchair users as a result of any mobility disability to achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation.
