The Study and Go Abroad Fall 2012 Fair Circuit kicks off in Vancouver on September 22nd and will visit Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto and Halifax
VANCOUVER, Sept. 11, 2012 /CNW/ - As universities across canada seek ways to further internationalize their student bodies, the Study and Go Abroad Fair, now in its 20th year, offers students in Canada an opportunity to learn more about studies abroad for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, certificate and diploma programs, and language training, as well as student travel options. The fairs are open to the public and admission is free of charge.
The world has changed and graduating from a local university is no longer enough to get ahead in today's global workplace. Companies looking to compete internationally need staff with an understanding of cultural differences, and employers appreciate that people who have studied and lived abroad are more confident, can adapt easier to unfamiliar circumstances, have enhanced life skills and are generally better prepared to engage globally. According to the Canadian Bureau for International Education's World of Learning report, 91 percent of employers said they place value on international experience when hiring, and 50 percent said that they would hire a candidate with study abroad experience over one without.
"Visitors to the Study and Go Abroad Fair can explore a full range of educational options, and find out practical information about admission requirements, program choices and scholarships," says Anita Kuehnel, Director. "It's an amazing opportunity to meet face-to-face with representatives from top-ranked universities from around the world".
Exhibiting institutions, many of which rank in the Top 100 universities worldwide, will be showcasing programs in Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Business, Technology, Science, Public Health, and Culinary and Liberal Arts, among other fields.
The event will also feature free information seminars throughout the day on a wide range of topics, and visitors are encouraged to arrive an hour before the fairs open to hear our guest speaker sessions.
Exhibitor profiles, scholarship information and seminar schedules for the STUDY AND GO ABROAD FAIR can be found online at www.studyandgoabroad.com, along with details of our Grand Prize Draw. Prizes include an international Air Canada flight, two volunteer trips to exotic locations and an iPad.
