Worldwide Orphans founder Dr. Jane Aronson in Toronto Sept. 9 and 10, 2013 for the WWO Canada 4th Annual Charity Golf Classic.

TORONTO, Sept. 6, 2013 /CNW/ - World renowned "Orphan Doctor" and founder of Worldwide Orphans Foundation, Dr. Jane Aronson will be in Toronto on September 9 and 10, 2013 for the Worldwide Orphans (WWO) Foundation Canada fourth annual Charity Golf Classic on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Greystone Golf Club.

This annual event raises funds to support WWO's early intervention programs in Bulgaria and Haiti. Through toy libraries, one-to-one caregiver programs, and sport, art, and camp programs, WWO works to ensure that orphaned and at-risk children can have a happy, healthy childhood in spite of their circumstances. The event has raised over $400,000 over the last three years through the generosity of corporate and individual supporters.

In last week's Huffington Post, Dr. Aronson wrote about the plight of the world's 143 million orphans: "They are victims of poverty, prejudice and human chaos from conflict, war, disaster and disease. I ask that we all include orphans, living without parental care, in our struggle for social justice. They are surely worthy of our marches, our raised up voices, our outraged pleas for the victims of human indecencies."
