Safety Week makes companies safer one demonstration at a time
CenturyVallen to host Safety Week for supporters of safe workplaces
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Sept. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Many of us have never used a fire extinguisher and likely wouldn't know how to if we tried. As part of its nationwide Safety Week events, CenturyVallen is bringing accident prevention and awareness to Mississauga to demonstrate just how to do it. The event will be held on Wednesday September 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at CenturyVallen's Mississauga branch located at 6710 Maritz Drive.
Attendees can enjoy a traditional-style barbecue followed by safety demonstrations and displays. Learn about respirator fit testing, witness a firefighting simulator, guided fire extinguisher use, fall arrest training and demonstration and learn about breathing apparatus usage and testing. The Mississauga Fire Department will also be there presenting information on fire protection.
"The idea for CenturyVallen's Safety Week came about because of ongoing workplace accidents and fatalities that seriously affect so many workers and their families," said Tom Taylor, regional director, Eastern Canada, CenturyVallen. "We hope that by showing people how to be safer at their workplaces, they can actually save lives. Nothing is more important to us than that."
As an added bonus, CenturyVallen will also be offering special pricing on domestic fire extinguishers and first aid kits on the day of the event.
