Tim Hortons celebrates coffee love and the expert care that goes into making Canada's Favourite Coffee for National Coffee Day, September 29, 2013.
OAKVILLE, ON, Sept. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - What can Canadians live without for a week? Alcohol? Absolutely. Facebook? No problem. Coffee? Not a chance.
When Canadians were asked in the Tim Hortons National Coffee Day Survey what they would be most willing to give up for one week if they had to choose, 45 per cent said alcohol, 38 per cent said Facebook, while only 8 per cent chose coffee. Similarly, when asked what they would most likely skip in the morning if running late, 36 per cent of Canadians said they would forego checking emails and social media, compared to a mere 7 per cent who'd be willing to pass on their morning coffee. In fact, 81 per cent of Canadians who drink coffee say they drink it every day.
"It's no surprise that coffee is an integral part of Canadians' day. From the aroma to the taste, there's nothing quite as satisfying as a perfectly brewed cup of coffee," says Dave McKay, Vice President, Beverages, Tim Hortons. "And since nearly eight out of every 10 cups of coffee sold in Canada is served at Tim Hortons, it's our mission to make sure we pour a freshly brewed, perfect cup each and every time. In honour of National Coffee Day, we want to say thank you to our dedicated team of restaurant owners and team members across the country who uphold our quality commitment, and to our loyal guests who visit us every day."
So, what do Tim Hortons guests love most about their coffee? The survey showed that for 87 per cent, it's the fact that Tim Hortons coffee is served hot and 20-minutes fresh, followed by the fact it's carefully brewed in small batches at the perfect temperature (72 per cent) and it has a one-of-a-kind great taste you can only get at Tim Hortons (70 per cent).
"There's good reason why we're Canada's Favourite Coffee," says Kevin West, Senior Director, Coffee Operations, Tim Hortons. "We have an unwavering commitment to ensuring our coffee is made to exacting standards that deliver a superior, unequalled taste. From the way the beans are picked to how the coffee is roasted under the direction of coffee masters, we take measures to ensure superior quality coffee from bean to cup. We do this without ever losing sight of our core value of providing an everyday experience centered on warmth and hospitality."
