Announcement highlights the United States' adoption of Canadian-made tech solutions
VANCOUVER, Dec. 13, 2016 /CNW/ - Bench, North America's largest bookkeeping service, today announced a new integration with Ottawa-based ecommerce giant, Shopify. The integration will showcase Bench as the only Do-It-For-You bookkeeping solution available to American merchants through the Shopify App Store.
"America's adoption of Canadian back-office solutions like Shopify and Bench highlights our country's reputation as a major driver of innovation and economic growth," said Ian Crosby, Co-Founder and CEO of Bench. "We're seeing more international focus on what's being produced in Canada. Companies like Slack, Hootsuite, BuildDirect and WealthSimple are not just leaders in the Canadian tech space, they're proving to be the best in class globally."
Shopify merchants across the United States can now fully outsource their bookkeeping needs to Bench, a white-glove service that organizes the financials of small businesses with the combination of intuitive software and a team of real, online bookkeepers. Time that was once spent buried in back-office tasks, outside of an entrepreneur's wheelhouse, can now be re-focused on scaling the core business and driving its success.
"Bench is a hugely valuable addition to the Shopify ecosystem," said Atlee Clark, Director of Apps and Developer Relations at Shopify. "This integration exemplifies how two Canadian tech companies can come together and solve problems that small and medium-sized businesses across the world face and simultaneously drive the growth of Canada's tech industry as a whole."
Launching out of TechStars New York City in 2012, Bench's co-founders left the promise and allure of the concrete jungle in favour of relocating the company to Vancouver, British Columbia.
