Canadian Business College Earns Top Standing in First Annual Paralegal Society of Ontario Student Moot Competition
CBC Paralegal entries win top prize, earn top three distinguished advocate awards, and the professionalism award.
TORONTO, Nov. 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Canadian Business College, one of Ontario's premier private career colleges, is pleased to announce they have won the Paralegal Society of Ontario's (PSO) First Annual Student Moot Competition. Four students from Canadian Business College's Paralegal Program competed against their peers from top public colleges in Ontario and captured the 1st place team award. The competition was held on November 23rd and 24th at Humber College's Lakeshore campus in Toronto.
"Winning the First Annual Paralegal Society of Ontario Student Moot Competition is a tremendous success for Canadian Business College," said Jeffrey Nicholson, In-House Counsel and Paralegal Program Director at Canadian Business College. Mr. Nicholson also served as team coach. "The win demonstrates the strength of our Paralegal Program and the commitment of our students, faculty and staff. I'm extremely pleased and proud of the results."
In addition to taking first place in the team competition, three of the four Canadian Business College students saw their hard work and dedication rewarded by earning four of the competition's prestigious individual awards. They include:
- Royce Calverley - Distinguished Advocate Award, 1st place
- Olivia Ho - Distinguished Advocate Award, 2nd place
- Kristina Gavrilenko - Distinguished Advocate Award, 3rd place
- Royce Calverley - Professionalism Award
