The program will help solve current issues of digital skills training for displaced advertising industry professionals
TORONTO, Aug. 17, 2016 /CNW/ - With the ongoing changes in the job market for the advertising industry, Digital AdLab Inc. and the National Advertising Benevolent Society (NABS) announced today a partnership to support displaced advertising professionals seeking to strengthen their digital knowledge and skills to re-enter the job market and/or advance their careers.
"Digital has had a profound impact on the marketplace and we recognize the importance of not only in training those entering the market, but also those who have been in the industry and have perhaps been displaced by the impact of digital," explains Raymond Reid, CEO and Founder of Digital AdLab. "We believe that the opportunity to train experienced media professionals in digital is a benefit to the overall industry."
Launching this month with the regional Digital AdLab Bootcamp in Halifax, NS, the program will continue to offer the regular intensive training for industry professionals while extending the opportunity to NABS. The organization supports over 1,400 families a year from every region of Canada.
"Two trends are converging: dramatic changes in the industry and a need to upgrade skills to remain competitive in an already competitive job market," says Louise Bérubé, NABS Director of Allocations and Services. "As a result, NABS is seeing an increasing demand from professionals in our industry for help to improve their digital skills and career opportunities. We are thrilled to work with Digital AdLab and wanted to offer a practical, effective response."
Through the single day program, advertising professionals are given access to a unique training opportunity utilizing the leading digital advertising suite of products available through our partnership with DoubleClick by Google. With an overview of current digital advertising fundamentals, the adtech ecosystem, programmatic buying and an overall inside look from the Buy-Side perspective, advertising professionals will receive a complete in-platform experience never before found in training.
"At Google, we're proud to support Digital AdLab's programs and the initiative with NABS as we believe the hands-on training will help to create a stronger digital economy and provide a pipeline of talent to businesses across Canada," says Matt Thornton, Director, Media Platforms, Google Canada. " With the growing demand for digital skills training within the industry, Google is committed to working in partnership with the Digital AdLab to deliver practical, in-platform, learning opportunities."
