Frank D'Angelo's 'Red Maple Leaf' coming to theatres February 24th
TORONTO, Feb. 16, 2017 /CNW/ - The highly anticipated, star studded drama The Red Maple Leaf is coming to Landmark and Cineplex theatres across Ontario starting on Friday February 24th, 2017 – to be followed by a world-wide release.
Having just completed a film festival tour where it played to sold out houses across North America, winning numerous awards (including Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director and Best Foreign Film), The Red Maple Leaf is a film to be excited about and surely not to be missed.
The Red Maple Leaf tells the story of the daughter of the U.S. Ambassador who is snatched from under the nose of her Secret Service detail in Ottawa. As the American authorities search for answers, pressure comes at them from every side and, while Canada and the U.S. fight over jurisdiction, seasoned veteran police detective Alfonso Palermo puts everything aside to find her.
The movie is written, directed and produced by Canadian-born Frank D'Angelo who also plays the leading role alongside some of Hollywood's finest actors including James Caan, Robert Loggia, Martin Landau, Paul Sorvino, Kris Kristofferson, Mira Sorvino, Michael Paré, Armand Assante, Eric Roberts, Margot Kidder, Daniel Baldwin, Laurie Fortier, Doris Roberts and Marc Blucas. The film is dedicated to the great Oscar nominated Robert Loggia and the Emmy Award-winning Doris Roberts, the last film for both actors.
And just as The Red Maple Leaf is hitting the big screen, Frank D'Angelo is putting the final touches on his next big feature film which starts shooting next month with a stable of Hollywood's acting icons. This will be his 6th feature film with In Your Ear Productions Ltd, who recently signed a 5-year worldwide distribution deal with 20th Century Fox's Incendo Television for the films Real Gangsters, Big Fat Stone, No Deposit, and Sicilian Vampire.
Frank D'Angelo is a screenwriter, director, actor, musician, and a Canadian talk show host. As a performer, he knew there was a big void in Canada for Canadians to promote their talents and so he created The Being Frank Show, a nationally broadcast late night talk/variety show. It has boasted guests and show business luminaries such as Al Pacino, Paul Newman, Tony Bennett, Graham Greene, Bill Fichtner, Kim Coates, Estella Warren, Bai Ling, Reggae Rapper Snow, Pavlo, Dan Hill, Ian Thomas, Murray McLauchlan, Missi Pyle, Kevin Hearn of The Barenaked Ladies and many, many more. The Being Frank Show has just completed taping its 7th season.
