IKEA Canada continues its transformation into a world class multichannel retailer and adds PayPal to its eCommerce roster
BURLINGTON, ON, July 19, 2016 /CNW/ - IKEA Canada is continuing its transformation into a world class multichannel retailer by announcing that customers can now pay with PayPal on its eCommerce site.
"We are constantly searching for ways to provide our customers with an even better shopping experience," said Stefan Sjöstrand, President, IKEA Canada. "By adding PayPal, we are further simplifying our online checkout and making IKEA more accessible to the many Canadians."
PayPal has approximately 6.4 million active user accounts in Canada. After shopping for items, IKEA customers can now pay for their purchase with PayPal without having to enter their credit card or financial details.
"We are delighted to team up with IKEA Canada. Our community of users have always wanted the option to pay with PayPal on the IKEA website. Now, it's even faster and easier for you to get your hands on that BILLY Bookcase or a KLIPPAN sofa," said Kerry Reynolds, Head, Consumer Marketing, PayPal Canada.
The introduction of PayPal is another development during a period of major growth for IKEA Canada's online offerings and its ability to interact with Canadians no matter where they are.
Located in a small corner of the Montreal store, Home Shopping launched from humble beginnings in 1996, allowing customers to place phone orders. As the digital world became more integrated into everyday life, IKEA Canada evolved to meet the needs of the online shopper and created the eCommerce virtual store – bringing IKEA products into the homes of Canadians from coast-to-coast. The eCommerce virtual store has a robust online payment roster including PayPal, VISA, Mastercard and IKEA gift cards.
Besides using their online balance, PayPal users can pay for their IKEA Canada purchases from their bank accounts, credit cards or Visa debit cards linked to their PayPal account. In addition, PayPal never shares its users' financial information with merchants, thereby helping to increase the security of the online transaction and protecting the payment information of its users.
