Craft the Perfect Mix of Candy with LÖRDAGSGODIS Pick & Mix Sweets
BURLINGTON, ON, Oct. 19, 2015 /CNW/- IKEA Canada announces the roll out of LÖRDAGSGODIS Pick & mix sweets, a new in-store candy shop offer that includes 48 varieties of confectioneries such as gummies, sours, marshmallows, chocolate, licorice and more. The sweets, which are made from Swedish recipes produced in and are imported from Europe, feature:
Customers can craft their own perfect mixed bag of candy - scooping one kind only, or one of each - as all the sweets have the same price ($1.99/100 grams).
The new offer is based on Lördagsgodis, or "Saturday candy", a beloved Scandinavian tradition dating back for several decades, in which children were allowed to visit the local store every Saturday for a bag of candy. Lördagsgodis has since grown to include any day of the week when children and adults alike splurge on a special sweet treat.
"As a young boy growing up in Sweden, I remember how "Saturday candy" was such a big part of my childhood as I looked forward to my favourite sweets. I'm now excited to be launching Pick & Mix here at IKEA and extending those traditions to our Canadian customers," said Stefan Sjostrand, President, IKEA Canada.
The LÖRDAGSGODIS Pick & mix sweets candy shops will continue to roll out throughout this Fall in Swedish Food Markets at each IKEA store across Canada.
