International Women's Forum to Award Hall of Fame Honors at Vancouver Gala
Ceremony to Feature Principal Artist and First Lady of Musical Theater, Elaine Paige
WHAT: The International Women's Forum's (IWF) 2013 World Leadership Conference celebrates and recognizes the accomplishments of trailblazing women leaders through its International Hall of Fame. IWF is a global membership organization of more than 5,000 highly accomplished women from 29 nations that promotes opportunities for women in leadership.
During this year's conference gala, The Right Honourable Kim Campbell, the 19th Prime Minister of Canada and IWF's Past President, will make opening remarks. The Honourable Christy Clark, Premier of British Columbia, will be receiving IWF's Woman Who Makes a Difference Award.
Dr. Jonathan Girard and the University of British Columbia Symphony Orchestra will serve as the distinguished performing artists.
WHO: The 2013 Hall of Fame honorees are:
The Most Honourable Portia Simpson Miller – The seventh Prime Minister of Jamaica and head of the People's National Party.
Lynn Johnston – Canada's foremost cartoonist, who was the first woman and first Canadian to win the Reuben Award.
Anne Murray – Iconic platinum recording artist and multi-award winning Canadian entertainer whose albums have sold over 54 million copies worldwide.
