Maple Leaf Seeks Permit and Resale Certificate for California MJ Project
(TSX-V: MGW)
May 2, 2016 – $0.115
CALGARY, May 2, 2016 /CNW/ - Maple Leaf Green World (MGW-V) ("Maple Leaf" or the "Company") announces that all the plants growing in a rental greenhouse have now been moved to its newly-constructed greenhouse. As such, the Company is applying for a seller's permit and resale certificate from the Board of Equalization of the State of California. The Company expects to receive the approval of the Board within two weeks. Upon receipt of the required permit and resale certificate, the Company will be fully compliant with the laws of California regarding the growing and selling of marijuana for medical purposes. The permit and resale certificate will also make the Company eligible to apply for a new medical marijuana license when such licenses become available.
Also, the Company has decided to join the UFCW (United Food & Commercial Workers International) Union as it has a Local 770 specifically set up for medical marijuana workers. This decision not only demonstrates the Company's strong support for the protection of its workers, but also means that the Company will be well positioned to obtain a new medical license when they become available under California law. The Company intends to keep current with the upcoming referendum for recreational marijuana legalization in California and the latest developments in medical marijuana licensing laws.
Photos of the facility's latest development, including the transporting growing seedlings to the greenhouse have been posted in the Company's website. Please visit the www.mlgreenworld.com.
