ALBERTA, Oct. 13, 2015 /CNW/ - Media are invited to join local schools from 13 locations across Alberta, along with teachers, administrators, parents and most importantly, students, as they join Ever Active Schools at the upcoming Healthy Active School Symposia (HASS).
Ever Active Schools — in partnership with Alberta Health Services, Be Fit For Life Centre and the Alberta Healthy School Community Wellness Fund— will host these events designed to inspire, connect and celebrate student leadership in creating a healthy school community. Symposia participants will take part in activities, view presentations, share ideas, network with other school communities and create inquiry-based action plans for the school year.
HASS are annual events held between September and February. Communities host events throughout the province that support student voice and connect to current curriculum.
Carlie McPhee with Alberta Health Services and a staff member with Ever Active Schools will be available for interviews prior to and during the event to discuss the symposium and its activities.
Please visit: http://www.everactive.org/hass-dates-and-locations, for dates and locations.
Optimal timing for media is between 10:00 am and 12:30 pm
