On August 10, all 18 10spot locations across Canada to offer free quickie mani, quickie pedi and any wax service

TORONTO, Aug. 4, 2016 /CNW/ - THE TEN SPOT, Canada's fastest-growing beauty service company, is turning 10 and is celebrating by offering customers free services at all 18 locations on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Founded by female entrepreneur Kristen Wood in 2006, THE TEN SPOT is North America's first niche beauty bar and "anti-spa" that combines the convenience of low-end salons with the quality standards of high-spas.

THE TEN SPOT has also partnered with Dress for Success affiliates across Canada, a global charity that provides professional attire to help women re-enter the job market, to encourage women across the country to support female entrepreneurship. Customers are invited to drop off unopened makeup, beauty products, or gently-used business accessories (purses, shoes, belts). Donations will be collected at each 10spot location on August 10 and sent to the nearest Dress for Success affiliate in Canada.

"I had a burning desire to start my own business as a young adult and set out to fill a gap in service offerings in the beauty industry, starting with Toronto," said Kristen Wood, founder and CEO, THE TEN SPOT. Media and guests are welcome to receive a quickie mani, a quickie pedi or any wax service free of charge on a first-come, first-serve basis at any of the 18 locations across the country. No appointments or other service offerings will be honoured on Wednesday, August 10. Donations are encouraged, but not mandatory.

Photo/filming opportunities are available on-site. Kristen Wood, founder and CEO, is also available for interviews at THE TEN SPOT flagship location at 749 Queen West, Toronto, Ontario.

Interview opportunities with franchise owners are also available upon request at each 10spot location.

WHAT:

• Free quickie services - Guests and media will receive a quickie mani, quickie pedi or quickie wax exclusively at all locations from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.
• Supporting women in business/local entrepreneurs - THE TEN SPOT has partnered with Dress for Success in Canada, a global charity with affiliates in 11 communities across Canada, that helps empower women to achieve economic independence. Guests are invited to donate unopened makeup or beauty products, gently used business accessories (black shoes/purses), or provide a monetary donation on August 10. Boxes will be provided at all 10spot locations to gather donations. Donations are encouraged, but not mandatory.
• Free giveaways - Dermalogica kits and products will be given away at all locations for the first 20 guests at each location.
