MEDIA ADVISORY: British Council Canada Unites Disabled Artists at Republic of Inclusion Event
TORONTO, June 21, 2017 /CNW/ -
What: British Council Canada is supporting the Republic of Inclusion, an event that will celebrate the creativity and innovation in the Deaf, disabled and Mad arts scene in Canada.
Featuring more than 50 leading artists and creators from Canada and abroad, the event aims to showcase diverse artistic practices that explore the idea of inclusion in the arts. The Republic of Inclusion will encourage cultural and creative change with performance bursts and discussions, music, visual arts, food, and more.
When: June 27 to 29, 2017
Where: The Shenkman Arts Centre in Ottawa, ON
Who: British Council will support artists from Canada and the United Kingdom, including a collaborative residency between Deborah Patterson, Winnipeg-based playwright, director and actor and Caroline Bowditch, a Scotland-based performance artist and choreographer.
