Media Alert: Iron Mountain Joins Forces with CyArk to Digitally Preserve Fort York Historical Site Through Virtual Reality
TORONTO, Sept. 27, 2017 /CNW/ - Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE: IRM), the global leader in storage and information management services, has partnered with CyArk, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting historic and cultural heritage sites, to bring the preservation of Canada's history into the digital age.
On October 4, and in honour of Canada's 150th birthday, these technology and historical visionaries will demonstrate and discuss how cutting-edge digital and virtual reality technologies are being used to digitally preserve Toronto's own Fort York, making it available for generations to come. The goal is to ensure people from across the globe can step into history with Fort York, learning about the early days of the War of 1812, and the important role Fort York played in creating the country we know today.
Observe CyArk's innovative 3-D mapping technology and experience how Iron Mountain and CyArk are collaborating to capture a 3-D rendering of Fort York that allows the landmark to be viewed online by anyone in the world.
