Innovation an important part of the Company's success story
TORONTO, July 7, 2016 /CNW/ - Today marks the 50th anniversary of Morneau Shepell Inc. (TSX: MSI), a North American leader in benefits and pension consulting, administration and technology. The Company is celebrating 50 years of success in providing clients and their employees with access to wellness programs like its global employee and family assistance programs (EFAPs), retirement and benefits plans and integrated absence management solutions.
"We are very proud of the positive impacts the Company has had on people's lives over the past 50 years," said Alan Torrie, President and CEO of Morneau Shepell. "This milestone gives us an opportunity to celebrate the success we have had in understanding and meeting our clients' business needs and the needs of their employees. Key to that success has been the ability of our Company and our employees to develop innovative solutions to meet those needs."
Torrie added, "Even in this sometimes challenging economy, we believe that the services and support that we provide have never been more essential and in demand – and critical, in fact, to the financial security, health and productivity of our clients and their people. We provide support daily, helping to improve the health and productivity of organizations and their people across all service areas: pensions, benefits consulting, administration, employee support solutions and absence management. We are also there in times of crisis; we were on the ground supporting our clients and their employees through the devastation and upheaval of the Fort McMurray wildfires and we are continuing that support through the rebuilding.
As the official Mental Health Partner of the Canadian Olympic team, Morneau Shepell also provides Canadian athletes, coaches and their families with access to EFAP services during the 2016 Olympic Games and beyond. These services are intended to help athletes deal with the personal and professional stresses of a life associated with high-performance sport and builds on the core strengths of Morneau Shepell's workplace health, wellness and employee support programs.
"We have extended our support to include the retiring employees of client organizations through the planned launch of Canada's first online retiree marketplace for health and life insurance benefits," said Torrie. "We remain focused on our four priorities: growth and performance; our people, our clients and shareholder value. Through our commitment to improving business and lives and the focus on those priorities, I am confident we will continue to succeed."
