TORONTO, Jan. 25, 2013 /CNW/ - Robert Piluso buys one LOTTO MAX ticket every couple of weeks. He does it, so he can get change to pay his dog walker. With a new baby at home, checking these tickets has been an afterthought, so when he walked into a store on Thursday evening and found out he had won the $20 million jackpot from the January 4, 2013 LOTTO MAX draw, he was blown away.
"I am really glad I remembered to check this ticket. I have a whole pile at home. I didn't even know what the jackpot amount was, when I bought it," said Piluso.
The new dad says that if it wasn't for his baby daughter, he wouldn't have hired a dog walker and ultimately, would not have won the jackpot.
The 39-year old Toronto resident is a service advisor at a local auto dealership and says this is a life changing experience.
"This is just going to make everything way better. We are outgrowing our house, and had been talking about looking for a new one, so now we can get a much bigger space," he explained.
Any further LOTTO MAX dreams though still haven't been finalized.
"My wife and I just haven't processed this yet. It's still not real so we can't even think about our future plans. I guess number one is to get to a bank today, right?" he laughed.
The winning ticket was purchased at Mac's Convenience on Van Horne in Toronto.
This is the first Ontario LOTTO MAX jackpot win in 2013.
