CALGARY, March 28, 2017 /CNW/ - A new smart home interior door handle, CUE, enters the market today, that aims to help people increase privacy and reduce embarrassment when using the bathroom. Its goal is to help its users discretely use the washroom and notify others when it's 'safe' to enter.
CUE's founder, Cory Mahoney, was inspired to make this privacy handle after his mother was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. These conditions made his mother feel uncomfortable when using residential or public washrooms, so he wanted to find a way to alleviate that stress.
"CUE was created because I wanted to help my mother, who I saw suffering from discomfort and embarrassment. While I wasn't able to help with my mother's pain, I was determined that there could be a way for me to reduce her embarrassment. In turn, I also realized that this idea could help other people who suffer from similar Inflammatory Bowel Diseases," explained Mahoney. "Ultimately, CUE is a great product for anyone, because at the end of the day, everyone has to use the washroom."
As a result, and in line with its mandate of helping others, CUE has promised to donate 10 per cent of all proceeds to Chive Charities.
"We couldn't be more thrilled to be partnering with incredible organizations like Chive Charities and help them reach their goal of making the world 10% happier," said Mahoney.
CUE is currently looking to raise money through Kickstarter, a platform where individuals can pledge money to bring up-and-coming creative projects to life. Fund them today!
