TORONTO, April 12, 2016 /CNW/ - As part of its ongoing mission to simplify the lives of Canadians, UGO Mobile Solutions L.P. (UGO) today introduced a new feature to its digital wallet that gives users the ability to scan, store, and easily organize receipts on their mobile devices.
Storing a receipt is simple. UGO Wallet users can take a picture of a receipt and key information will be automatically extracted and stored digitally in the wallet, including the date, time, amount, currency, and name of retailer.
From there, users can label receipts as business or personal and further organize them into custom folders and expense types, such as bills and utilities, work expenses, or special events. The ability to customize how receipts are organized helps Canadians keep track of their expenses and avoid losing important receipts in overstuffed wallets.
Users can also assign hashtags or notes to each receipt that can be used to perform custom searches. If at any time customers need to view their purchase history, receipts can be exported individually or as a group.
"Handling, storing and searching for receipts can be frustrating and time-consuming," said Alec Morley, CEO of UGO. "UGO takes the guesswork out of the process, making it simple and easy for people to securely store receipts and track purchases."
UGO's receipt functionality, backed by Sensibill Inc.'s digital receipt technology, is now available to iPhone users. Android and BlackBerry versions, with similar functionality, will be launched in the coming days.
