MONTREAL, April 3, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - VOTI Detection today officially inaugurated its new global headquarters in the Montreal borough of St-Laurent, launching a new chapter of further growth for the leading-edge Canadian technology company whose innovative breakthrough scanning systems are deployed in 45 countries around the world.
A tripling of unit sales each year for the past three years meant the company had out-grown its previous facility in Dorval. The new headquarters on Bégin Street in St-Laurent gives ample renovated space for VOTI research facilities, manufacturing, shipping and management offices. About 45 employees work at the facility. VOTI also has offices in the United States (New Jersey) and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai).
"This move was necessitated by our rapid growth which is a reflection of the growing acceptance by customers around the world of the innovation and ease-of-use of our 3D Perspective Canadian technology," said Rory Olson, President and Chief Executive Officer of VOTI Detection. "Thanks to our continuous discussions with government agencies and security specialists worldwide, we have created products that not only respond to the diverse operational realities of our customers but also exceed current regulatory requirements and performance benchmarks in an ever-evolving world."
The innovative technology in VOTI Detection systems is making it the leader in its field. Last fall, VOTI Detection scanners were chosen by Amazon to be installed at all its United States fulfillment centres to scan employees for security and loss prevention. VOTI scanners have also been chosen for use by the Metro (subway) system in Ankara, Turkey, United States Air Force, and for the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan Am Games.
In November 2017, VOTI Detection was named one of Canada's Top 10 Companies-to-Watch in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ Awards.
At the new Montreal headquarters, VOTI X-ray security scanners are assembled and the proprietary VOTI scanning software developed, installed and customized. The research facility is dedicated to continuous improvement of the unique VOTI 3D Perspective™ technology as well as to developing customized solutions to meet specific needs of customers. About 95 per cent of VOTI Detection scanners are exported from Canada.
About 3D Perspective™ technology
VOTI Detection systems are unique because of its innovative breakthrough 3D Perspective™ technology and advanced detection algorithms. These allow the rapid production of remarkably sharp and indisputably superior X-ray images while delivering enhanced threat detection capabilities and a unique user-friendly experience. VOTI Detection systems automatically archives the original source files of every scan so any one can be retrieved for additional analysis with the same clarity as when the object was scanned for the first time. VOTI Detection systems can be easily upgraded based on material classification to its repertoire of potential threats or contraband to be detected, allowing clients to respond quickly to any changing circumstances or detection needs
