TORONTO, March 9, 2020 /CNW/ - The Assembly of First Nations (AFN) is hosting its 4th Annual National Housing and Infrastructure Forum and Tradeshow from March 10-12, 2020 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, ON. Hundreds of First Nations leaders, experts and Elders will gather under the theme First Nations Control: Transformative Change in Housing and Infrastructure.
AFN National Chief Perry Bellegarde will provide opening remarks on Day 1, Tuesday, March 10.

The Forum is an opportunity for delegates to assess and discuss the transformative changes coming to First Nations housing and infrastructure with the implementation of the Ten-Year National First Nations Housing and related Infrastructure Strategy. There will be added emphasis on Infrastructure as it relates to Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Asset Management Planning. The AFN will present a draft O&M Policy based on the results of the 2018-2019 First Nations-led National First Nations housing survey.
The forum will examine long-term approaches for housing and related infrastructure for First Nations and for First Nations citizens who live in urban, rural, and northern areas.
