TORONTO, Dec. 3, 2019 /CNW/ - The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) and the Greater Toronto Airports Authority, operator of Toronto Pearson, invite media to attend a holiday travel tips session.
Toronto Pearson is Canada's busiest airport and we are expecting a very busy holiday season this year.
CATSA will also offer a display of recently surrendered items from Toronto security checkpoints.
When: Friday, December 6, 2019, from 6:30 am to 11 am
Where: Toronto Pearson International Airport, Terminal 1, departures.
Who: Christine Langlois, Spokesperson, CATSA
Photo Op: Intercepted items from passengers' carry-on baggage
Parking: Attending media can park in the Terminal 1 Express Park lot and walk through the passenger bridges from the parking structure to Terminal 1, Level 2. Stairs, escalators or elevators can be used to reach Departures, on Level 3. Media briefings will be located at Post 3.
Satellite broadcasting trucks are not permitted on the curb adjacent to Terminal 1 Departures and must be parked in the parking structure. Rooftop parking spaces are available, however, we recommend that media confirm the height of their vehicle to ensure that it is less than 2.40m. Larger vehicles may not have the clearance to enter the parking structure.
CATSA is a Crown corporation responsible for:
- Pre-board screening – the screening of passengers, their carry-on baggage and their personal belongings;
- Hold-baggage screening – the screening of checked baggage;
- Non-passenger screening – the random screening of non-passengers; and
- Restricted Area Identity Card – the administration of access control to airport restricted areas through biometric identifiers.
