The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages, will outline various initiatives aiming to address the shortage of teachers in French-language schools in minority communities as well as French immersion and French as a second language programs.
OTTAWA, March 2, 2021 /CNW/ - The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages, will take part in a virtual press conference to outline various initiatives put in place following the investments made across the country since 2019, guided by the Teacher Recruitment and Retention Strategy. The minister will be joined by officials representing la Fédération nationale des conseils scolaires francophones, the Canadian Teachers' Federation, the Canadian School Boards Association and l'Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne.
