Funding will support Indigenous youth participation and help celebrate Indigenous cultures
SIPEKNE'KATIK FIRST NATION, NS, June 29, 2023 /CNW/ - Jaime Battiste, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Member of Parliament (Sydney–Victoria), will highlight federal funding for the 2023 North American Indigenous Games on Friday. He will make the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Sport and Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, and the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. He will also be joined by Kody Blois, Member of Parliament (Kings–Hants), and Lena Metlege Diab, Member of Parliament (Halifax West).
The announcement will take place at the canoe relay that is preceding the North American Indigenous Games.
