/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Government of Canada to announce investments in the next generation of world-class scientists/ Français
OTTAWA, ON, July 14, 2021 /CNW/ - On behalf of the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, Ali Ehsassi, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, will announce the recipients of this year's Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships and Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships. These talented doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers are playing a critical role in the scientific progress and innovation that will help build a stronger future for Canada.
Mr. Ehsassi will be joined by Dr. Michael Strong, President of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR); Alejandro Adem, President of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada; and Ted Hewitt, President of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council; as well as six of the funding recipients, who will discuss their work and how this funding will support their development.
