/R E P E A T -- Media advisory - Government of Canada to announce major support for researchers and projects at universities across Canada/ Français
EDMONTON, AB, Aug. 28, 2023 /CNW/ - The Honourable Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages, on behalf of the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, and the Honourable Mark Holland, Minister of Health, will visit the University of Alberta to announce support for researchers and projects at institutions across Canada. This will highlight the Government of Canada's support for world-class researchers who are making discoveries that will ensure tomorrow's secure and thriving economy.
The minister will be joined by Dr. Ted Hewitt, President of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and Chair of the Canada Research Coordinating Committee, and Dr. Aminah Robinson Fayek, Vice-President, Research and Innovation, of the University of Alberta. Four researchers from the University of Alberta will also join and present their funded projects.
