/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Media technical briefing followed by a press conference with Ministers Mendicino, Sajjan and Lametti on the tabling of legislation/

OTTAWA, ON, March 8, 2023 /CNW/ - Government of Canada officials will host a media technical briefing on the tabling of An Act to amend the Criminal Code and to make consequential amendments to other Acts. The media technical briefing will be for background information only and not for attribution. Journalists will have the opportunity to ask questions.  

The technical briefing will remain under embargo until the press conference begins at 1:00 p.m. EST. 

Following the media technical briefing, members of the media are invited to join the Honourable Marco Mendicino, Minister of Public Safety, the Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan, Minister of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada (PacifiCan), the Honourable David Lametti, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, and Marie-France Lalonde, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship and Member of Parliament for Orléans, for a press conference.

Following the announcement, Ministers Mendicino, Sajjan and Lametti, and Parliamentary Secretary Lalonde will take questions from the media.
