/R E P E A T -- MEDIA ADVISORY - Minister Fraser to attend Canada Day citizenship ceremonies in Toronto/ Français
TORONTO, June 30, 2023 /CNW/ - The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, will welcome several of Canada's newest citizens at two special ceremonies in Toronto.
Minister Fraser will be joined by Arif Virani, Member of Parliament for Parkdale-High Park, to welcome ten new Canadians at a special citizenship ceremony at Toronto's High Park.
The ceremony will be presided by Citizenship Judge Albert Wong.
Minister Fraser will then welcome nine new Canadians at a special pregame ceremony hosted by the Toronto Blue Jays prior to the baseball game. The candidates will take the oath in front of the pitcher's mound on the field at Rogers Centre, and will then throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Countries of origin represented are Brazil, China, England, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Portugal and the United States of America.

- Media credentials must be requested via the MLB Credentials Portal. The ballpark opens to media at 11 a.m. Eastern time.

- Press Box on 300 Level – 11 a.m. Eastern time until end of game
- For interviews: Summit Suite on 400 Level – 3:20 to 4 p.m. Eastern time
- Still photographers only, during the pregame ceremony: Photo Bay on 3rd base line
- Interviews with candidates, Minister Fraser and Blue Jays executive will take place in the Summit Suite following the pregame ceremony.
- Video is not permitted during pregame ceremony; the Blue Jays will provide b-roll shortly following the conclusion of the ceremony.
- No live transmissions inside the stadium by non-rights holders are permitted while the rights holders are on the air or the game is in progress.
