OTTAWA, ON, Dec. 6, 2021 /CNW/ - The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship will host a virtual event on the Protection and Empowerment of Displaced Women and Girls from Central America and Mexico.
The Minister is the current chair of the Support Platform for the Comprehensive Regional Protection and Solutions Framework (known as MIRPS in Spanish). The MIRPS Support Platform is one of three Platforms launched at the December 2019 Global Refugee Forum to implement the Global Compact on Refugees. Canada's theme for its one-year tenure as chair of the Support Platform is "The Protection and Empowerment of Women and Girls on the Move."
