HALIFAX, NS, Dec. 5, 2023 /CNW/ - The Salvation Army's Jack Frost program handed out a record number of meals last week, as ministry work begins for the winter season.
Each Wednesday, Salvation Army volunteers drive around visiting different points in the heart of Halifax Regional Municipality from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. delivering hot meals and clothes for people experiencing homeliness in the area as part of their Jack Frost Street Ministry program. Last week 150 meals were served, a record breaker for Tom Banfield who has been volunteering with the program for over 11 years.
