TORONTO, Aug. 30, 2024 /CNW/ - Media are invited to join Unifor at Nathan Phillips Square as union members from across the GTA gather for celebrations prior to marching in the Toronto Labour Day parade.
"This Labour Day comes at a time when workers are organizing and fighting for justice everywhere, at bargaining tables, on picket lines, and in the streets," said Unifor National President Lana Payne. "While the labour movement has achieved major victories this year, some of Canada's most powerful corporations want to roll back the clock on union rights. Now, workers need to come together like never before to defend our right to strike and to keep up the fight for better working conditions and a just economy."
