/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Victims Challenge Initial Ontario Court Orders for Three Tobacco Companies/ Français
MONTREAL, April 3, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - Counsel for the CQTS-Blais and Létourneau class actions will be heard tomorrow and Friday by the Ontario Superior Court, which has authorized JTI-MacDonald, Imperial Tobacco and Rothmans, Benson & Hedges to seek protection from their creditors in recent weeks. These orders of the Ontario Superior Court were delivered following the March 1 decision of the Quebec Court of Appeal, which condemned the three tobacco companies to pay $ 13.6 billion to 100,000 Quebec tobacco victims.
As an applicant in this case, the Quebec Council on Tobacco and Health (CQTS) invites the media to contact Me André Lespérance and Me Bruce Johnston, who represent the victims and will be present at the Ontario Superior Court.
