OTTAWA, June 25, 2014 /CNW/ - Brian Ballinger, Baseline Rd. Branch Manager and Jean-Louis Rioux, Regional Manager of National Bank of Canada, presented Walter Noble, Executive Director of the Children's Aid Foundation of Ottawa and Javier Clavelo Robinson, Supervisor of Volunteer Services at the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa with a cheque for $1,000.
"It takes a lot of good people and organizations working together to make a difference in our community," stated Walter Noble. National Bank's donation will be distributed through the Children's Aid Foundation of Ottawa Cookie Jar program. In the past, funds from this program have helped provide children, youth and families receiving support from the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa with financial assistance for sporting, recreational and cultural programs, as well as other basic necessities, such as beds or strollers.
"We are very pleased to support the Children's Aid Foundation of Ottawa as they invest in the lives of children and families in our community," said Mr. Ballinger. The National Bank of Canada prides itself on helping young people achieve their full potential. Through several initiatives such as the One for Youth program, in 2013, National Bank has distributed $1 million to 104 organizations across the country. For this reason and many others, National Bank of Canada was named Outstanding Enterprise of the Year in Philanthropy by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
