10th Anniversary of National Health Day in Canada - What have we learned? Not much!
OTTAWA, Feb. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - For the 10th year in a row, well known Ottawa Chiropractor and Health & Wellness Expert Dr. John Zielonka has declared Monday February 17th to be officially known as National Health Day. Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson has joined Dr. Zielonka's quest in proclaiming National Health Day for the nation's capital.
What started as a quest for a new holiday (the public may visit Dr. Zielonka's website www.excellenceinhealth.com to print a doctor's note giving them the day off) was always meant to teach Canadians the true meaning of health and that they're ultimately responsible for it.
"Unfortunately, 10 years later and contrary to many people's beliefs, we still live in a "sick-care" system that's nowhere close to helping people achieve their true health potential". "If all Canadians, especially politicians and doctors, understood what "health" actually meant and more importantly acted on it, Canadians would be much healthier."
