11th Guignolée du Dr Julien - A Record Amount of $ 1 350 000 raised for the Fondation du Dr Julien Français
MONTREAL, Jan. 18, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The 11th Guignolée du Dr Julien has proven to be a huge success with a total amount of $ 1 350 000 raised. These donations will enable the Fondation du Dr Julien to keep providing professional services to vulnerable children and their families. Thanks to the unprecedented generosity of the public, the Fondation has also been able to give Christmas presents to 1 100 kids.
« This incredible amount of support deeply touches us, especially considering that these donations are mainly from individuals. Given that government funding will end in 2015 and that its renewal is uncertain, the success of this Guignolée enables us to ensure the long-term sustainability of our services to children and their families for the next few years. We now feel more than ever that the public supports our mission to provide care to the most vulnerable children and help them thrive as any other kid », declares Dr. Gilles Julien, Founder and President of the Fondation du Dr Julien.
The Guignolée du Dr Julien would not have been possible without the participation of its 450 volunteers that went out to collect donations last December 14th. The Fondation wishes to warmly thank them and all its partners, especially TELUS for its $ 20 000 donation and its support to the mobile donation campaign that helped raise an additional $ 5 250. The Fondation also extends its most heartfelt thanks to Groupe Jean Coutu that generously gave $ 50 000 for the Guignolée du Dr Julien's Wheel of Fortune campaign, to both event spokespersons, Ève Christian and Christian Bégin, and finally the whole "Samedi et Rien d'Autre" team, a radio show hosted by Joël Le Bigot and broadcasted live from the Guignolée on Radio-Canada's Première chaîne.
In 2012, the Guignolée du Dr Julien raised $ 1 050 000.
