12th Annual Women's Golf Classic brings together influential women execs for a day of luxury on the links in support of Children's Aid Foundation
TORONTO, June 12, 2012 /CNW/ - On Monday, June 18th, the Children's Aid Foundation will host the 12th Annual Women's Golf Classic, at the prestigious Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario. Funds raised at this popular boutique event benefit the Children's Aid Foundation and help offer hope and opportunity to thousands of Canadian children and youth who are at risk of poverty, abuse or neglect. To date, $2.4 million has been raised to fund programs that focus on prevention, enrichment and education to help vulnerable children and youth grow into healthy adults and contributing members of society.
Presented by Rogers Communications, the Women's Golf Classic brings together many of Canada's most prominent women executives and entrepreneurs to network, entertain clients and socialize with colleagues while enjoying a day of luxury on the links.
"The Women's Golf Classic is about more than just great golf, which is why it's enjoyed such success over the years," said Mridula Joyner, Director of Development for the Children's Aid Foundation. "The women who attend the event take pride and satisfaction in knowing that they are helping to raise over $200,000 a year to give Canadian children in care the developmental supports they need to thrive."
From the moment they arrive, guests are pampered, starting with valet parking and car grooming, breakfast in the clubhouse, spa services, massage, and golf clinics with Canadian golf legend Sandra Post. At 11 a.m., golfers set out on the award-winning course, where they are treated to gifts and prizes, gourmet food and drink sampling along the way, followed by a visit to the Post-Golf Style Salon where they can freshen up. The day concludes with a cocktail reception featuring music from a renowned Latin American jazz trio, a sumptuous dinner, a live and silent auction and awards ceremony.
Spokespersons for the Women's Golf Classic and the Children's Aid Foundation will be available to the media in the days leading up to the event and at the event itself. For more information, or to arrange an interview or photo op, call Jeff Ball at 416-923-0924 ext. 230.
