MONTREAL, Dec. 16, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - In the evening of December 16th, the 15th Guignolée du Dr Julien, the Fondation's annual fundraising drive in support of its three centres of expertise had raised $1,143,335.
This first count is a testament to the public's renewed support for community social pediatrics. "This year once again, the population answered our call and showed its great generosity for vulnerable children. On behalf of myself and of everyone at the Foundation, I wish to thank from the bottom of my heart all those who supported us in the past and continue to do so every year", said Dr. Gilles Julien, social pediatrician, founder and president of the Fondation du Dr Julien.
The money raised will be used to offer direct care and professional services to the most vulnerable children. Our children's needs are ever-growing and it is thanks to the public that we are able to help them develop their full potential. "Continue to support us until January 15th and help us make social pediatrics accessible to more and more children," added Dr. Julien.
Musicians, street performers, dancers, mascots, Impact players, celebrities and actors took part in the 15th edition of this traditional neighborhood celebration. We would like to thank all those who generously participated in our social media campaign.
The entire team at Fondation du Dr Julien wishes to especially thank the many volunteers who helped out at the Guignolée, many of whom bravely faced the cold, as well as all its partners, co-founder and ambassador Ève Christian and ambassador Christian Bégin, the team of Samedi et rien d'autre, hosted by Joël Le Bigot and aired on ICI Radio-Canada Première, as well as 91.9 Sport FM's host Jean-Charles Lajoie and his team. The Fondation would also like to thank RNC Media network for its support throughout the province.
We also want to acknowledge the generosity of the many donors who offered an incredible amount of gifts that will allow children to receive a Christmas gift, and bring joy to their families. The Fondation still needs new gifts for children as well as gift cards (shops, movies) for teenagers, show tickets or free passes for various activities.
