TORONTO, July 6 /CNW/ - CTV's newest series HOT IN CLEVELAND is Canada's favourite new comedy as 1.82 million viewers tuned-in to the non-simulcast Canadian broadcast premiere on CTV. Winning the 8 p.m. timeslot, HOT IN CLEVELAND beat THE BACHELORETTE (Citytv, 1.2 million) and more than doubled the audience of LIE TO ME (Global 830,000).
Keeping the fire burning for the Monday Night comedy block, HOT IN CLEVELAND was the second most-watched program of the day behind only THE BIG BANG THEORY (1.88 million) with viewers P2+ and the key demos A18-49 and A25-54. Last night's broadcast marks the highest rated comedy debut since HICCUPS and DAN FOR MAYOR earlier this year. It now stands as the No. 1 ranked new import comedy of the year.
As the latest show to join CTV.ca's lineup of series, the premiere episode is now available on demand on CTV.ca. An encore episode of the premiere also airs on The Comedy Network Friday, July 9 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
