19th Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards - Danone's Oikos Greek Yogurt crowned Best New Canadian Product! Français
BOUCHERVILLE, QC, July 3, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Just a few months after it launched, its exceptional quality had already won over millions of Canadian consumers; therefore, it comes as no surprise that Danone's Oikos Greek Yogurt also made an impression on the 32 jury members of the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards. In addition to being awarded the "Best New Dairy Product", Oikos was named the "Best New Canadian Product" across all categories.
A Retail Council of Canada initiative, the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards are by far the most prestigious awards in the Canadian food industry. Of the hundreds of products submitted this year, 122 competed as finalists for the jury's favourite.
"The dairy category is full of innovation, and many new products are being released every year," noted Catherine Fortier, marketing director with Danone Canada. "Being named best new product of such a category is a remarkable honour, but in our view, winning the best new Canadian product award is quite a feat!"
Developed in Boucherville, PQ, Oikos was inspired by Greek tradition and made to offer a unique flavour and an incomparably rich, creamy texture. It's a low-fat, yet protein-rich product that can be enjoyed as-is or used in recipes.
