Party on the Promenade promises 3 days of exciting Pop-Up entertainment and activities along the newly revitalized Queens Quay!
TORONTO, June 10, 2015 /CNW/ - The 2015 Redpath Waterfront Festival (RWF)—the best waterfront party of the season--is set to surge on Toronto's newly revitalized Queens Quay to celebrate the summer solstice.

Queens Quay Official Opening, featuring the biggest ribbon cutting ceremony Toronto has ever seen, with a 650 metre-long ribbon waved by hundreds of residents and visitors. The event is hosted by Waterfront Toronto at the Simcoe Wave Deck. |

Waterfront Community People's Parade, beginning at Sherbourne Common (led by Shadowland Theatre) and ending at HTO Park East--just in time for the grand opening show and celebration at 9:00 p.m. |

Grand Opening Show and Celebration with celebrity dance performances by Blake McGrath and Trevor Tordjman ("James" of The Next Step), joined by several of his cast mates, Alakazam, aka "The Human Knot" (who will leave you breathless), Dr. Draw who comprises elements of classical violin, jazz-rock fusion, folk and pop, culminating with pyrotechnics and a grand finale by Swing Shift Big Band! |
The Waterfront BIA presents Party on the Promenade -- 3 days of exciting pop-up entertainment and activities such as the award-winning STEPS Initiative's ARTivations. Artists and art lovers of all ages are welcome at the new Art Hub 27 cultural centre at Pier 27, 100 Queens Quay West, to take part in the creation of a new large-scale work of art. The Spadina, Rees and Simcoe WaveDecks will be alive with music including the Waterfront Singing Ambassadors, buskers and newchoir (an adult choir that performs a rock and pop choral repertoire). Check out the dance demos, sign up for stand up paddleboarding (SUP) lessons and yoga and more! Or, visit Redpath Sugar and gather a team together to compete in a 1 tonne sugar pull with a group of special guests.

DANCE Pan American Style, DockDogs® Championships presented by PortsToronto and the Ultimutts Stunt Dog Show, a unique circus style show jam packed with non-stop incredible tricks by rescue dogs will wow you. And this is your chance—no matter what your age or ability—to try a swing jive, fox trot and salsa with Jean Marc Généreux, a hip hop class with Trevor Tordjman, or jazz, contemporary with Blake McGrath—our celebrity choreographers are leading FREE dance classes all weekend long from HTO Park East's panoramic floating stage! Plus the popular Toronto Wine & Spirit Festival and the Sweetness Pride Beach Party events return to Sugar Beach.
Enjoy a unique assortment of crafts and boutique products at the Waterfront Artisan Market in HTO Park East. Browse or buy from local artisans, chefs and entrepreneurs who will be offering a variety of finely crafted jewellery, one-of-a-kind gifts, works of art, scrumptious baked goods and fragrant body products all weekend long. And, when you need a bite to eat and a cool beverage, sit and relax at the licensed Waterfront Beach Bar with your toes in the sand at Urban Beach.

Hop on the dog-friendly RWF free shuttle, courtesy of RBC. The shuttle runs from Sherbourne Common to HTO Park East with four stops along the way. Want a scenic view? Ride the shuttle around the entire Festival footprint and catch the events along the newly revitalized Queens Quay. Once on board, be sure to get your RBC "Quay" to Someday Passport so you can take advantage of all the surprises waiting for you at the Festival!
