20 years and 1 000 000 people - The OSEntreprendre Challenge is transforming Québec with each new project! Français
QUÉBEC CITY, Oct. 12, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - A source of considerable pride, the OSEntreprendre Challenge has been fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship for 20 years by mobilizing the many resources of the education, economic and social networks in Québec's 17 regions. So far, the OSEntreprendre Challenge has attracted more than a million participants and more than 80 000 projects have been submitted. And things show no signs of slowing down!
Between now and March 13, 2018, elementary school, secondary school, college and university students, as well as new entrepreneurs, are invited to showcase their projects by registering for the OSEntreprendre Challenge. The 20th edition will culminate in the provincial gala in Québec City on June 13, 2018. Meanwhile, hundreds of local and regional finals will celebrate the courage of those who dare to transform their ideas into action.
Quotations:
"Our government has great faith in Québec's innovative, creative and inspiring young people. They are among today's decision-makers and the day is fast approaching when they will take over this responsibility completely. From the start, the OSEntreprendre Challenge has been fostering the spirit of entrepreneurship in young people throughout Québec by mobilizing a host of people from the educational, economic and social networks. I commend the work done by the team behind this Challenge and their partners but, most of all, I applaud the courage of our young people who participate in it by daring to move forward with their entrepreneurial projects."
Philippe Couillard, Premier of Québec and Minister responsible for Youth Issues
"We have been a presenting partner of the OSEntreprendre Challenge since its inception 20 years ago. Global Entrepreneurship Monitor's 2016/2017 report ranks the early-stage entrepreneurial activity of Quebecers aged 18 to 24 second, and that of those aged 25-32 third, among comparable economies. We have to build on this momentum and foster the development of our young people's entrepreneurial spirit in our schools."
Guy Cormier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Desjardins Group
"As the host of the provincial gala for the last three years, I had the opportunity to meet the OSEntreprendre finalists in person. As an entrepreneur myself and co-owner of Pixcom, an audiovisual production studio, I wanted to ally myself with them as Honorary President to celebrate their enthusiasm, courage and the zany streak inside them. No matter where you live in Québec, no matter what your age, if you are daring enough to carry out a project, let us know about it by registering for the OSEntreprendre Challenge."
Charles Lafortune, Honorary President of the 20th edition of the OSEntreprendre Challenge
